WE are Inspired Interns

Hello from the North American Interns! At the start of our fourth week, it’s safe to say that –although we’re all part of different teams working on different projects — our experiences thus far have been nothing short of amazing. There are 22 interns across the country. During our first week of intense Intern 101 training, we were able to meet and interact face-to-face through video conferencing, establishing relationships that now allow us to collaborate nationally with one another.

After learning all about the “Waggener Way,” we were ready to dive right in and get started on our projects and rotations. In one short month, we’ve helped launch products, (like Microsoft Office 365), participated in events (Microsoft Photo DNA Leadership Forum), and created materials that are vital to media campaigns. The opportunity to apply what we’ve learned in college and get real-world results is incredibly rewarding…and very exciting!

It was apparent within our first few days at Waggener Edstrom that we had joined not only an agency, but a family, a team of people who made themselves available and welcomed us with open arms. Our initial jitters of not fitting-in and fears of receiving the “Oh, she’s an intern” glare quickly disappeared. We are encouraged on a daily basis to ask questions, request more work, and seek help when we need it! The sense of community at Waggener calmed many of our worries about the need to compete with other interns and helped us quickly find our place within the agency.

With the majority of our internship ahead of us, we’re looking forward to diving deeper into Waggener’s company culture and learning how our abilities can best contribute to the agency as a whole. It’s apparent to us that Waggener Edstrom is invested in the internship program, and we can’t wait return the investment. This is our time for learning, sharing and creating, and we are grateful to be part of such a smart, supportive and creative team. We are surrounded by passionate and creative colleagues, and that is what INSPIRES us to be great.

And the best is yet to come!
